Tree Trimming PartyA tree trimming party captures all the festiveness of the season, but in a more casual way than more traditional holiday parties.
Things just don't have to be perfect, which means a lot less stress for you!
When guests attend your party, they expect to find a naked tree, and a house that is not quite ready for Christmas - that's why they're there!
On top of all this, it can be a family-friendly affair, catering to both adults and children at the same time.
It is a good idea to send out invitations beforehand to allow your guests to make time for the event.
Let them know you will be having food and drinks and what type. Should they expect a dinner, h'ors d'oeuvres, or a weekend brunch? If you are having an h'ors d'oeuvres menu, make sure your choices have a minimal messy factor. There will be a lot going on with all the decorating!

Set up your tree and put the lights on beforehand if needed.
Make sure your ornaments and decorations are organized and easy to reach. A good way to do this is to put them in boxes organized by type (for example, reserve your more delicate ornaments for adults only). Many stores now offer great pre-designed boxes made just for ornaments.
If your decor allows, it is a fun idea to have candy canes to hang on the tree. This is especially great for children!
Remember, this is a relaxed party and don't over-stress yourself. It will be enjoyable for everyone and in the end, you will have a fully decorated tree!
